"It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable" - Socrates.
Hi, My name is Robert. In 2008 I started my journey at 385 pounds and I was miserable.
I knew I needed to make a change but like many other times before, I just couldn't seem to stick with it. At first I started walking. Then, as the weight began to come off, I started to jog and would set a goal to make it to the next mailbox.
One mailbox turned into two, three, and then mailboxes turned into miles.
Then on November, 2009, I worked up my courage to participate in my first event - a 10K Turkey Trot

I was hooked...Running changed everything. The sense of accomplishment and personal victory is what had been lacking in my previous attempts to lose weight and change my lifestyle.
Slowly I took on more challenging distances...
My First Half Marathon, Mackinac Island, MI -2010
On September 18th, 2011 I ran my first marathon in Rochester, NY.
Since that time, I have run several races and found a passion for triathlon and have completed my first 70.3 on August, 2013 at Wisconsin Dells, WI. ( 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run)
Running and endurance sports has enabled me to completely change my lifestyle and stick with my own weight loss goals.
December, 2013 I was certified with the Road Runners Club of America as an Adult Distance Running Coach with the desire to pass on what I have learned and my love for the sport so that others will also be inspired to make the change as well.

"For coaches who recreational runners might work with, the most common forms of certification are by USATF or the Road Runners Club of America. USATF maintains a list of certified coaches here, while the RRCA maintains a database searchable by state here."
I am currently working on the ACE personal trainers certification and am certified through ACE in weight management.
My ultimate goal is to help as many people as possible to reach their goals and discover what they are capable of.
